These two paintings likely belonged to a single decorative cycle originally located in the church of Santi Naborre e Felice in Bologna and executed shortly after the mid-16th century. The sculptural quality of the figures reflects the influence of Roman and Florentine artistic traditions, to which Tibaldi often turned. Both works are now housed in the Pinacoteca Nazionale of Bologna.
